Water is an indispensable resource for all domestic and economic activities. But, with the advent of climate change, both quantity and quality of available water resources are being negatively impacted. WaterAid wishing to underscore the critical role of women in water conservation and management and in an effort to promote women’s leadership in water governance, introduced the initiative ‘Women Water Champions (WWCs)’ with like-minded organizations.
This video documents the journey of women from Bhadohi district who challenged the water crisis and steadily addressed the issues with grit, courage and determination. These water champions developed a plan for water point restoration and convinced the community members to contribute to the initiative to rejuvenate the hand pump point for safe and portable drinking water.
